| Navigation Exercise - January 22nd |

The first Navigation exercise of the New Year started at the Leisure Centre with an excellent turnout of competitors and marshals alike. 8 crews, all Novices, signed on with a sprinkling of regular crews, some old faces from the past and a couple of members new to Nav. Ex's.
It was very good to see some many
prepared to marshal and there were 8 Officials signed on.
Stu Wood had set out a route of some 36 miles with six controls and
11 Passage controls using the lanes around Brynsworthy, Tawstock then
to Harracott, Atherington, and at its furthermost point south, near
Roborough, before returning via Sherwood Green, Hiscott, Pristacott
and finishing near Newton Tracey with the results at the Hunters Inn.
With a large portion of the route as a photocopy and about 3rd pre-plot
penalties were very close with Control 3 accounting for all competitors
to varying degrees. All 8 crews finished, and considering the tightness
of the route none with ridiculous penalties Nothing could separate the
first two crews and even lowest cc could not divide them. Another tie
for the second place could not be decided either.
