Navigation Exercise - April 9th

The fourth event of the 2003 Navigation Exercise Championship was organised by Robert Cocker and Arthur Cole - their first time as event organisers. Another good entry of 9 crews turned up to take part, plus an overwhelming number of marshals - so many that all controls were manned and there were no less than 5 secret/give way checks as well!

Starting from the Williams Arms in Wrafton, the 46-mile route took in the lanes around Braunton, Georgeham, West Down, East Down and Arlington, with the final section twisting around Muddiford and Marwood before returning to the Williams Arms for the results.

As the only crew who attempted the Expert navigation, Ben and Jason Byrom were first in that class, despite having to swap vehicles en-route following a breakdown! In the novice section, Scott Cleverdon and Lou Pring were clear winners, finishing the event without picking up any penalties.

Robert and Arthur would like to thank all those who took part, and especially all those who marshalled.
