The first Gymkhana of the season was held at the North Devon Motor Club's Sugworthy circuit, and a healthy total of 21 competitors turned up to take part. The hot weather didn't cause any major problems, and 'catching some rays' was high on the list of things to do! With a number of new competitors, the organisers decided to keep the tests simple, and a total of 4 tests, all forward, were set out, each test being completed twice. The grass was medium to long and the surface underneath dry which made the going fair as grip was even, so no advantage could be gained by going first. This was also the first event that the 'Treads' project had entered and by the look on all their faces and the feedback after the event, the Motor Club can expect an increase in membership! Many thanks to the marshals, especially Jill Hayward, Mrs Moore and Owen Drayton. The organising team.
