Firstly we would like to thank everyone for attending the first Treasure Hunt of the year. It was pleasing to see so many entrants, including some new faces. Luckily it had stopped raining when everyone arrived for the start at Atlantic Village in Bideford. The route took the crews through Woodtown, Alwington, Littleham & Buckland Brewer, eventually bringing them to the finish at The Bell Inn, Monkleigh. Gale & Ossie were the first car to leave, with everyone else departing after a 10-minute interval. As Neil and I had free time until 5.00pm, I did try to persuade him to go shopping for an hour, but he declined! Why else did we choose Atlantic Village?!? We decided to drive the route to make sure everyone was ok. We reached the first clue, only to find several entrants stuck! Fortunately this was Neil's idea of a good clue ...why do men never listen?! As we drove on, Margaret and Dave said that they had sussed it! We parked up at Hooper's Water Farm,
and in the hour we were there, only Sheila & Fred, Kevin, Tracey,
Charlotte & Tom and Karen & Stuart passed us. Other than this,
the highlight was that a gorgeous Aston Martin DB7 and a slinky black
Evo 7 drove by! We found the Moores, and Sheila and Fred in Buckland Brewer. Fred was on foot looking for clues, but apparently without much success - or so he thought! Next to arrive were Karen and Stuart, who also started searching for clues on foot. We left them and headed for the finish, and we finally found Gale and Ossie! They weren't lost at all - they were flying around the route! Everyone made it to the pub by 5.30pm, where answers and results were given. To keep with the theme of Spring, as it is nearly Easter, what else could be given as prizes other than Easter Eggs!
