Aycliffe Press Exmoor Trial 2005

Well he's done it again, for the third consecutive year Chris Lidstone has taken the top motorcycle awards on the Aycliffe Press Exmoor Trial, 1st overall and best NDMC, is there no one out there that can stop him? - now there's a challenge for 2006. The first overall car award went to Carl Talbot and Nick Crutchfield for the first time in their Morris Trial Master special who finished with a clean sheet beating last years winners, Adrian Dommett and Judy Philips by one point.

The day of the trial was dry therefore Clerk of the Course Rodney Murch enforced a minimum tyre pressure limit for certain classes which turned out to be the right decision with clean sheets returned by only one car, two solo's and one combination.

This year's event seemed to be enjoyed by all who managed to complete the route with many compliments received at the finish and over the following days by phone. With this in mind I wish to thank all marshals and officials for ensuring we have a top class event. Special thanks go to Jill Hayward for looking after the paper work, Rodney Murch for setting out an enjoyable yet challenging route, Andy New as Chief Marshal for his preparations for the day so that Arthur Cole could take over from Andy when he took to his bed with flu, also thanks to Steve Parker for the results work.

And finally, many thanks to our sponsor Les Deacon for his 17th year of support. He has already reserved a major role for the 2006 event, which indicates he will still be involved in the future events.
