Stu Wood Targa Rally 14th April

Updated: Apr 9

This event is named in memory of Stu Wood, who for many years was a regular competitor on different types of rally events as both a driver and navigator. He was also a long-time organiser of the “Ilfracombe rally” and a prominent member of the NDMC.

This year we are offering up to 10 special tests totalling over 35 miles: the majority being on hard tarmac with a small section being on unsurfaced paths. As always detailed maps will be provided by the organisers, with the entry fee being £170. We will aim for car 00 to start at 09:45 and the event to end at approximately 16:30. We are proud the event is a round of the ASWMC Targa rally championship as well as the BTRDA “SILVER STAR” Targa rally Championship, and if that isn’t enough also the CMSG Targa rally championship.

For the Novice there will be a clubmans event open to members of North Devon Motor Club, South Hams MC, Bath MC, Exeter MC, Exmouth MC and Taunton MC. A ‘RS Clubmans’ licence from Motorsport UK will be required. The event will run as a Targa Road rally permit allowing any 2WD road rally cars to compete, registered contenders can also score points by marshalling. We have included a class for Historic Cars - one class for any Historic Category (1, 2, 3, 4 or 4b, no waivers) Period Defined Vehicle (Rally) Car as defined in the Motorsport UK Yearbook.
